What is Islam?
Islam ?
Islam is an ancient faith. God revealed the same truth to all of His prophets throughout history. Islam is a full way of life as well as a religion. Muslims practice a religion of kindness, forgiveness, and peace that shouldn't be connected to acts of violence against the defenseless.
What do Muslims believe and whojare they?
Muslims make up about 1.2 billion people worldwide. Only 20% of Muslims are found in Arabic-speaking countries. Indonesia has the highest Muslim population of any nation. Muslims hold that there is only one, special, and unmatched God. They trust in the coming Day of Judgment and personal responsibility. Muslims consider Adam to be the first prophet, followed by Noah, Abraham, Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Moses, David, Solomon, and Jesus. The Prophet Muhammad confirmed and completed God's eternal revelation (peace be on them all). Saying "There is no god but God, and Muhammad is the messenger of God" makes one a Muslim. The person expresses faith in all of God's messengers by making this declaration.
Describe the Quran ?
The Quran is a record of the exact words that God revealed to the Prophet Muhammad through the Angel Gabriel. After memorizing it, Muhammad said it aloud to his companions. Throughout the Prophet's lifetime, the Quran's text was double-checked. Through the ages, the 114 chapters of the Quran have not changed.
What are Islam's "Five Pillars"?
1. The Declaration of Faith, which consists of the aforementioned two-sentence declaration.
2. Prayer - Muslims are obligated to offer up five prayers each day. The worshiper and God are in touch directly through the prayers of Islam. Islam lacks a priesthood or hierarchical power. Each group elects a knowledgeable Muslim to preside over the prayers.
3.Zakat - One of Islam's most fundamental tenets is that everything belongs to God and that people are merely custodians of wealth. By setting aside a portion of one's wealth for those in need, zakat, or charitable giving, "purifies" money. Typically, this payout equals 2.5 percent of one's capital.
4.Fasting - Muslims observe a daylong fast during the Islamic lunar month of Ramadan every year. Another means of self-purification is the fast.
5.Pilgrimage - For those who are financially or physically competent, doing the Hajj, or pilgrimage to Mecca, is required.
